Our Mission
Our mission is to encourage, promote and create enthusiasm for, to sponsor and conduct activities and events that relate to and contribute to the welfare of, and to collect, record preserve and publish matters that relate to the strain of the horse known as the Tennessee Walking Horse.
Our Orginization
The Tennessee Walking Horse Association of Colorado, Inc., was originally formed in the mid 1960s. Incorporated in 1972 as a non-profit organization within the State of Colorado by an active group of horse show enthusiasts, the purpose of the association is to promote and support the Tennessee Walking Horse as a sound shod pleasure horse.
Members of our association can be seen across the state promoting Tennessee Walkers in a variety of venues that exemplify the characteristics of this versatile breed. We take an active part in: competitive trail riding, national reining horse competition, mounted shooting, competitive jumping, obstacle driving, barrel racing, pole bending, mounted patrol, Westernaires, and mounted drill teams. From "the trail to the rail". we offer something for all of our members.
In conjunction with the recognition of the versatility of our Tennessee Walkers, we recognize that they, along with other gaited breeds, form a foundation for enjoyment by horse enthusiasts across our state. We welcome you to join us in camaraderie and equestrian centered family fun. |
